Homes in Franklin TN
The seat of Williamson County, Franklin is one of the best places to live in the country – and its not just the folks here who think so. The city has been appearing regularly on best places lists, most notably CNN and Money Magazine’s annual rankings of the country’s top 100 communities. Franklin made the prestigious list in 2008 for its “rare blend of history and progress” and for its “affordable housing and a short commute to Nashville.”
As in most of the communities in the Greater Nashville area, the living is good and easy in Franklin. This is the kind of place where folks still take time to stop and smell the roses, no matter how busy they may seem. The quality of life here is one of the many reasons why homes in Franklin, TN represent some of the most desirable real estate not just in the region, but in the state as a whole.

Franklin is an active town that works hard to offer something for almost everyone. Every fall, the Franklin Jazz Festival attracts big name performers for a weekend of music and fun. “Dickens of a Christmas” brings out the characters straight out of A Christmas Carol that walk through downtown greeting (and bah humbugging) visitors. Brewfest, Three Blind Wines, Tour of Homes, and the Main Street Festival are just a few of the regular events that residents and visitors enjoy throughout the year.
The Factory in Franklin is an actual converted bedding factory that has become a unique mall full of restaurants, art galleries, and variety of eclectic shops and businesses. The Factory is also home to The Boiler Room Theatre, which always puts on a season of entertaining plays and musicals. Kimbro’s Pickin Parlor, Merridee’s Breadbasket, and Puckett’s Grocery are a few of my favorite places in downtown Franklin.
The site of two major Civil War battles, Franklin is a community that has preserved many landmarks of its rich past. Historic Downtown Franklin, with its Victorian storefronts, tree-lined avenues and eclectic collection of shops and restaurants, never fails to charm residents and visitors alike. There are also quite a few historic homes in Franklin, TN, a significant number of which are elegant antebellum treasures.
